Sophos Anti-Virus (SAV) for Notes/Domino detects, reports and disinfects viruses in Lotus Notes databases and email. It is installed on Domino servers and operates in immediate, scheduled and real-time modes. Infected attachments are either quarantined or automatically disinfected before delivery to the recipient. Comprehensive messaging allows SAV to notify administrators, senders and recipients of any viruses found. SAV for Notes/Domino can find viruses in attachments compressed with ZIP and other popular compression utilities. Virus detection and disinfection is performed by the high-speed SAV virus detection engine, which allows easy, central and transparent updating of virus definitions.

How it works

Sophos Anti-Virus for Notes/Domino operates in three modes:

Immediate: scans Notes databases immediately for viral attachments.
Scheduled: scans Notes databases on scheduled days and at specified times.
Real-time: intercepts and scans email attachments as they are sent or received.

Infected attachments are disinfected, deleted or quarantined. The administrator has full control over quarantined attachments.

Attachments encrypted by Notes (which cannot be scanned on the Domino server) can be either deleted or quarantined.
